A sve njene radove možete pronaći ovdje: elenagual.art.

I am very sad, to see how the world keeps taking steps back. I have been asked so many times why I paint black people? I have even been surprised by the fact of such a question. And to be honest with you, I have never given an answer, mainly because of the fact that painting every skin tone in the same way, is a natural form of expression that I find within my work of art. I see no differences whatsoever in the way we look, and I actually feel ashamed of the people that do. .But I cannot ignore that racism is another pandemic that we keep facing in the world right now. So I feel I must share with you all, that black skin tone has always been my favourite one, not only because of the reflection of the difficult paths people have been through, but in a an artistic way I see a radiance that I do not encounter in my other works. This paintings also tend to be the favourites to most of you, so I know I am not the only one that feels an affection for these pictures. .Therefore lets make a change together, we need to act now and use our voice #blacklivesmatter . .PS: here are some organisations that are helping to fund racial justice: – gofundme.com/f/georgefloyd – Minnesota freedom fund – @reclaimtheblock – @blackvisionscollective – Campaign Zero – Unicorn Riot

“Sometimes life gets in the way, you know… its not always easy to paint, in fact, it is as hard as any other job. People tell artists that we should express our emotions through our works of art, and they aren’t wrong, but that ain’t easy… this week I felt very weak and anxious from work and life itself, but I don’t know if you can see what I see in this piece… rather than expressing my anxiety on it, peace was what came out of it, Its like if my inner mirror was not reflecting my issues but the strength that I hold on to, when struggles come. Hope you find some piece in it too. EG” #oiloncanvas #goldleaf
