With so many new faces here on this platform, I want to welcome you and do a little Introduction Post to share a bit more about myself. I’m Alisa Vitti (pronounced Ah-leesa Vih-tea). I first became interested in women’s health in 6th grade, when I learned I was going to have a period! I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 20, which became another key life-defining moment for me along my journey and further fueled my passion and work. I'm a women's functional hormone and nutrition expert, a Femtech founder of @floliving, a company that provides category defining products, programs, and services to bridge the gender gap for women's health, as well as the author of 2 books, WomanCode and In The Flo (the first ever book about the Infradian rhythm) – both of which are so lovingly referred to as must-have, life-changing reads for women! I'm also a women's healthcare activist  – I believe it is long overdue for women to receive the correct information about their bodies so they can get out from under the oppression that is keeping us unnecessarily sick. I’ve spent the past 15 years studying, researching, personally applying, and globally teaching how to stop hormonal chaos and get into hormonal flow. I haven’t drank coffee in 20 years! Alisa Vitti žena je iza knjige Woman Code. Radi o knjizi koja govori da svoju prehranu, vježbanje i lifestyle morate prilagoditi svom ciklusu. Ne morate, ali ako to učinite, promijenit ćete svoj život na bolje. Kako? Tako da je znanstveno dokazano da određene namirnice itekako narušavaju vašu hormonalnu ravnotežu, kao i krivi načini vježbanja. Točnije, o danima ciklusa ovisi kako se osjećamo i za što je naše tijelo spremno.

Osim toga, na hormonalnu neravnotežu osobito utječu kava, alkohol, gluten i razina šećera. Alisa je recimo žena koja bez navedenog živi već 20 godina. Naravno, nismo svi isti, no znanstvena istraživanja pokazala su da su upravo ti sastojci krivi za neredovite cikluse, policističke jajnike, bolne mentruacije, jak PMS.

Tjelovježba se sa znanstvene strane uvijek naklanjala muškarcima, tako da je i iz tog aspekta teško prepoznati koje su vježbe bolje za žensko tijelo. Ako pitate Alisu, to su svakako više vježbe snage i istezanja, poput yoge, dok je cardio samo za neke određene dane ciklusa.

Alisina knjiga Woman Code jedna je od svjetskih bestsellera, osobito jer se temelji na znanstvenim činjenicama, a njezina autorica bavi se ženskim hormonima i zdravljem od svoje prve menstruacije (kako sama kaže) i pomaže ženama diljem svijeta. Ukoliko je još niste pročitali, a nosite se s nekim od navedenih problema, ova knjiga mogla bi vam pomoći da živite bolje u svom tijelu, ali i upoznate više same sebe. Mogli bismo čak reći, vratite se svojoj ženstvenosti i napokon je prigrlite.

Because we are living in unpredictable times, our typical “do” pace has been shifted towards one of solitude or staying, of resting and returning to ourselves. Living in a city like NY and feeling concern for both myself as well as my family has been challenging, to say the least. All I can do is try to stay grounded in myself, for the sake of my health and the health of the ones I love most. This is an important opportunity for us to enhance our consciousness and self-awareness. So many forms of spirituality suggest we must transcend the body to connect to something bigger than ourselves but what I’ve found personally is that for women, it is through the body that we come to this greater perspective and deeper conscious awareness. Staying balanced, aligning with our cycles and reconnecting to our unique rhythm, while also being sensitive to the world is quite a test. Still, we must try to stay calm and centered and connected to our essence, as much as we can. Truly, I recommend you continue to practice The Cycle Syncing Method for your wellbeing. When you connect to this larger creative force of nature by going within your own body, syncing with your cycle becomes the physical daily practice that keeps you anchored. You settle into a sense of greater self awareness and realize that you are perfect in your ever-changing nature, in these ever-changing circumstances, just the way you are.

March is #WomensHistoryMonth and I wanted to begin with a quote selected for the beginning of my book In The Flo – a section called Our Bodies, Our Time. It is SO important that we as women begin to truly honor our strength, our power, our potential and the unique, beautiful biological rhythms of who we are. It’s time to stop living by someone else’s rules and not listening to the wisdom within. It’s time to flip the script. I created the FLO Manifesto that I hope you can carry with you into this special month and beyond. To re-inspire and reconnect you with the infradian intelligence you possess. It states: I acknowledge my cycle has four distinct hormonal patterns. Each of these phases requires different nourishment and self-care. Supporting each phase is the key to optimizing my health. Syncing with each phase allows me to tap into creativity to optimize work, motherhood, and relationships on my own terms. Living according to my biorhythmic timing restores my sovereignty and makes me more free. This is a hormonal revolution, and I am so excited to be a part of it and champion greater health and happiness for us all.

Most of us assume that being in that state of peak performance happens by accident, or that we have to take what we can get with our bodies and our lives. And as women, we too often believe that our bodies work against us and make it even harder to get into that peak state consistently.
