Nakon što nas je dodjela Critics Choice Awards uvela u ovogodišnju sezonu dodjela nagrada, stigla je i možda najvažnija večer uz Oscare. Dodijeljeni su Zlatni globusi, koji su istaknuli filmska i televizijska ostvarenja te umjetničke izvedbe godine. Večer je vodila komičarka Nikki Glaser, a među najvećim filmskim dobitnicima bili su Paul Thomas Anderson, “Hamnet” i brazilska produkcija, dok je televizijskim dijelom nagrada ponovno dominirala britanska “Adolescence”
Kao najveće iznenađenje večeri istaknula se glavna nagrada u kategoriji drame, koja je otišla Chloé Zhao i timu filma “Hamnet”, adaptacije romana Maggie O’Farrell inspirirane nepoznatim dijelom života Williama Shakespearea. Jessie Buckley, koja u filmu tumači ulogu majke Agnes, osvojila je nagradu za najbolju glumicu u drami, što je bilo očekivano. “One Battle After Another” uzeo je priznanje za najbolji film u kategoriji mjuzikla ili komedije, a njegov redatelj Paul Thomas Anderson osvojio je nagradu za najbolju režiju. Veliko iznenađenje bio je trijumf brazilskog filma “The Secret Agent”, koji je proglašen najboljim filmom na stranom jeziku, kao i pobjeda njegova protagonista Wagnera Moure u kategoriji najboljega glumca u drami. Ponovno je dominirao Timothée Chalamet, osvojivši Zlatni globus za izvedbu u filmu “Marty Supreme”, koji je nedavno izašao i u domaćim kinima. Da će ispred nas biti napeta utrka za glavnu nagradu industrije, Oscare, potvrđuju i pobjede Rose Byrne, Teyane Taylor i Stellana Skarsgårda.
Na televizijskoj sceni ponovno je uspjehe nizala “Adolescence”, koja je, osim u kategoriji najbolje limitirane serije, pobijedila i u kategorijama najboljih glumaca, i to za čak troje članova svoje postave – Owena Coopera, Stephena Grahama i Erin Doherty. “The Pitt” je proglašena najboljom seriji u kategoriji drame, a Noah Wyle najboljim glumcem. Apple TV istaknuo se s dvije nagrađivane serije: Rhea Seehorn osvojila je nagradu za najbolju glumicu u kategoriji drame za seriju “Pluribus”, dok je “The Studio” osvojio nagradu za najbolju seriju u kategoriji komedije ili mjuzikla, kao i onu za najboljeg glumca, koja je pripala Sethu Rogenu.
Prvi je put u povijesti Zlatnih globusa dodijeljena i nagrada za najbolji podcast, koja je otišla Amy Poehler za njezin “Good Hang with Amy Poehler”.
